The Importance of Shunt Calibration
I have heard of shunt calibration and see our instrument has the capability, but why is it important?
Shunt calibration helps reduce instrumentation and lead wire errors by simultaneously scaling the instrument (sets span) and correcting for lead wire desensitization (gage factor desensitization). For further information about, and techniques for shunt calibration, see our Applications Note VMM-16.
