Tight Corners

So what do we do when we want to measure strain at the right angle interface of two surfaces? The strain sensor cannot be placed completely into that intersection point.

 

Strip foil strain sensors  could be the answer.

 

The strip sensor features ten grids with an identical small space separating each grid. These sensors are placed as closely as possible to the interface. With this setup you can measure ten data points leading up to the intersection and then extrapolate the strain at the intersection point.
