Shear Patterns: Single Grid and Dual Grid

The sensing grid in shear pattern strain gages is angled at 45° to the long axis of the gage. These sensors are designed to facilitate reliable and accurate torque, shear and torsional load measurements in high capacity weighing (such as truck scales), robotics, factory automation, machinery and tooling, agricultural and off-highway vehicle, and materials testing applications. In many cases, existing components may be gaged to create cost-effective force sensors.
